The Court expresses great sorrow in reporting The Honorable Thomas A. Wiseman, Jr., passed away on March 18, 2020.

Judge Wiseman was appointed as a United States District Judge for the Middle District of Tennessee on August 25, 1978, and faithfully served on the bench for over 35 years.  Judge Wiseman was Chief Judge from 1984 to 1991.  He assumed senior status in November 1995 and fully retired in October 2013.  Judge Wiseman was highly respected, and he will be greatly missed.
