Magistrate Judge Evans Investiture Planned for May 14, 2026

The United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee will host the investiture of Luke A. Evans as United States Magistrate Judge on May 14, 2026, at 3:30p.m. in the Fred D. Thompson United States Courthouse and Federal Building, Courtroom 6B, located at 719 Church Street, Nashville, Tennessee 37203.  A reception will follow. Members of the bar and the public are invited to attend.

Prior to his appointment on February 4, 2026, Magistrate Judge Evans was a senior partner with the firm Evans, Bulloch & Parker, PLLC, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  He devoted a significant portion of his career to criminal defense, representing individuals charged in both state and federal courts across Tennessee. Prior to entering private practice, he served as an Assistant District Attorney General for the Thirtieth Judicial District in Memphis, Shelby County.  In addition to criminal practice, Judge Evans was an accomplished civil litigator, with particular experience in civil rights litigation in both state and federal courts. He also maintained an active family law practice, representing clients in matters involving divorce, child custody, and related proceedings.

Judge Evans is a 2004 graduate of the University of Memphis School of Law and member of the Tennessee Bar. He was admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Middle, Eastern, and Western Districts of Tennessee, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
